The Motor Vehicle Operator is a vital member of the Transportation Section within Facilities Engineering Service. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Incumbents may encounter communicable diseases while transporting patients and are required to use appropriate personal protective equipment. The work also presents a risk of injury when assisting or repositioning patients, particularly those who are non-compliant with verbal instructions.
