This position will lead and oversee programs designed to provide emotional, legal, and logistical assistance to victims, fostering their recovery and reintegration into the community. The manager will be responsible for establishing, operating, and sustaining the department's law enforcement-based Victim Services Unit. Job Description: Supervision Received and Exercised Reports to the Chief of Police and serves as a key member of the College's leadership team. Performs routine managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the victim services unit. Exercises managerial supervision over assigned staff, establishing goals, policies, procedures, schedules, and priorities. Oversees program operations, budgeting, and performance management. Description of Duties and Tasks Establish goals and objectives; develop guidelines, policies, and procedures; develop schedules, priorities, and standards to achieve established goals. Interview victims individually, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems to determine what services are required to meet their needs. Establish processes to support victims with family services, guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, mental health services, and other contacts. Advocate for individual and community needs. Develop trauma-informed training. Research best practices for colleges across the United States. Develop and evaluate budget requests; monitor budget expenditures. Coordinate and evaluate program activities. Leverage data to inform strategic planning and continuous process improvement. Prepare reports and briefings for executive leadership. Ensure program outcomes align with institutional strategic priorities. Job Requirements Knowledge: Familiarity with statistical and analytical methodologies. Knowledge of current change management theories. Understanding of student services processes and procedures, enrollment trends, ACC culture and academic curricula. Stay updated on emerging technologies and communication systems to promote programs, activities, and services. Utilize project management techniques. Apply student development best practices. Supplemental Knowledge: Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes, including the Texas Penal Code, Clery Act, and Title IX requirements. Knowledge of locally available resources related to the support of crime victims. Knowledge and skills of trauma-informed interviewing. Practice behaviors that support belonging for all and trauma-informed approaches in law enforcement.
