About the role
You will serve as a Cyberspace Data Engineer responsible for providing technical guidance and operational advice to the assigned Cyber Protection Team (CPT) in support of Navy Defensive Computer Operations (DCO). Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: Utilize proficiency in extracting data from multiple sources, transforming it into a usable form, and loading it into data stores for use by analysts to conduct defensive cyberspace operations; Configure clients and servers for remote logging with approved third-party data collection tools so they may be ingested to commercial Security Information and Event Management solutions (i.e., Splunk or Elastic); Conduct defensive cyberspace operations, threat hunting, intrusion detection, and network or host analysis to discover, clear, and harden networks against malicious cyber activity.
