About the role
Job Description The ET Division is looking to hire a research scientist in the area of electrocatalytic and photocatalytic systems for decarbonisedchemical conversions. The project is funded by the National Research Fellowshipgrant awarded to the Principal Investigator (Dr. Leow Wan Ru) over a durationof 5 years. This area of research is crucial to develop capability in ISCE2 forsustainability: to develop effective catalysts that can enable the manufactureof important commodity chemicals with much reduced carbon footprint. Qualification and field of study We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals to join our team. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related fields. Candidates with the following backgrounds are strongly preferred: experience inelectro/photochemistry, including but not restricted to: Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) Electro/photocatalytic transformation of small molecules Biomass valorization to useful commodities Development of new electro/photocatalyst materials and characterization Fundamental investigations through operando spectroscopy, i.e., Raman or X-ray absorption spectroscopies Device engineering and optimization
