TARGET CLOSE DATE: 06/29/2026 PAY GRADE: Grade 22 TYPE: Full time JOB SUMMARY: The City of Birmingham is seeking a qualified Landfill Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the landfill. This position is responsible for monitoring all areas of the facility, including the scale house, public unloading areas, working face, road maintenance, dirt hauling, and security. The Landfill Supervisor ensures the safe disposal of refuse, oversees environmental monitoring activities, and maintains compliance with applicable regulations and operational policies. Working under general supervision, the incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment in managing facility operations, coordinating staff and resources, resolving issues, and keeping management informed of significant matters. Work is evaluated through inspections, reports, and overall operational results.
