Equipment Specialist

About the role

You will serve as an Equipment Specialist in the WHE Compliance Division, Transportation Product Line, Public Works Department NAVSTA Norfolk, of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic. The organizational title of this position is Senior Equipment Specialist (Cranes). Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Applying a wide range of technical disciplines (mechanical, structural, electrical) as a subject matter expert/consultant for all types of Weight Handling Equipment (WHE), including portal, mobile, tower, container, gantry, floating, and overhead traveling bridge cranes; 2) Applying knowledge of NAVFAC P-307 and other applicable instructions/policies to perform maintenance, testing, inspection of cranes and rigging gear; and 3) Managing projects and accomplishing objectives within resource constraints.
