About the role

You will serve as a HEALTH PHYSICIST in the RADIATION HEALTH DIVISION of PSNS and IMF. This announcement is for an Upward Mobility Program position. The Upward Mobility Program is a unique job opportunity. This program is designed to provide Department of Navy employees career growth opportunities who have potential but do not presently meet the Office of Personnel Management qualification requirements for this position. The entry level for this position is GS-09 with a full performance level of GS-12. Knowledge of employees selected may vary and will require the development of an individually tailored training plan to assist them in qualifying for the full performance level of this position. Eligibility requires that the employee be performing satisfactorily, complete all training requirements, acquire the requisite qualifications and have met time-in-grade eligibility for career ladder promotions. This recruitment is open to current UIC 4523A employees who, in addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, at the GS-07 (or higher) grade level, or equivalent. Employee Participation Requirements Must be a current permanent employee serving under a competitive appointment, or on a time-limited or excepted appointment that provides for noncompetitive conversion to a permanent appointment (e.g., VRA, Schedule A Individuals with Disabilities).
