Job Posting Title: Physical Therapist II Location: Dallas - Hospital Additional Posting Details: Four 10 hour shifts with quarterly weekend needs. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities Performs examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcome in accordance with standards set by profession's national association, scope of practice and hospital policies and guidelines. Completes documentation per departmental and hospital policy and demonstrates an understanding of revenue cycle implications of effective documentation. Utilizes effective verbal and written communication with providers, patients of all ages and their families, hospital staff members, and other professionals. Identifies ways to improve communication with these groups. Supervises therapy aides, students and volunteers in order to maintain patient safety and regulatory standards. Also informally supervises Staff Therapist Level I to support safe and effective patient care and professional growth. Participates in formal and informal education of new employees, students, volunteers, and members of same and other disciplines. Identifies opportunities to collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to enhance outcomes for patient care through individual patient care coordination as well as education and research activities. Identifies opportunities and participates in professional development activities and shares knowledge with other staff members through formal and informal educational opportunities. Participates in research projects, performance improvement processes, quality initiatives, and/or outcome studies. Seeks opportunities and participates in community activities, programs that benefit patients or programs that encourage wellness for our staff and the community. Required Skills/Abilities Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Texas. Successful completion of an accredited program in an applicable profession. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 3 or more years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist, with a strong preference for experience in sports medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation, and treatment of athletic populations. Experience evaluating, treating, and developing rehabilitation programs for athletes and individuals with sports-related injuries. Working Environment Working Conditions: Inside and outside Working Position: Sitting, Standing, Walking Physical Demands: Heavy Physical Requirements: L ifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, crawling, repetitive movement, stooping/kneeling/bending, climbing, balancing. An Individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in this group: 35-50 lbs.
