About the role

Duration: Fixed-term contract until 31st August 2028. Hours: 0.8 FTE About the Role Informal Queries For informal queries about the role, please contact David Fearn (Head of Department) at D.W.Fearn@warwick.ac.uk The Department of Classics and Ancient History seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow for a fixed-term period of two years from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028, at 0.8FTE. The purpose of this post is to provide undergraduate teaching in Roman history, as well as pastoral and administrative cover. About You You will have a research specialism in Roman imperial history and the ability to teach Roman history including via texts in the original Latin. You will organise and teach the term-long first-year undergraduate core module Roman Culture and Society (including sessions on study skills), and convene and teach an Honours-level optional module each year. In the first year this will be 'The Transformation of Roman Society Under Augustus'. In the second year you will be given the opportunity to teach a Roman History module of your own devising, in consultation with the Head of Department. You will be expected to be available to students 3 days a week in the department during term time. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience in academic administrative roles by acting as personal tutor to students, and through undertaking administrative duties, as reasonably requested by the Head of Department. £35,608 to £46,049 per annum, pro rata
