Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day production issues and reliability engineering activities
• Troubleshoot technical issues and identify the most effective solutions
• Support manufacturing projects in line with quality, safety, environmental, and operational requirements
• Lead/support projects, training development, and cross-training
• Drive process improvements and Kaizen activities
• Work with EHS to ensure safety of staff and contractors
• Ensure compliance with Engineering Change Control
• Support reliability standards for equipment, processes, systems, and utilities
• Participate in RCAs and implement corrective actions
• Develop business cases for technical improvement projects
• Improve maintenance systems and identify technical/financial opportunities
• Support energy management, sustainability, and asset lifecycle planning
• Degree (Level 8) in Mechanical or Chemical/Process Engineering or related subject area
• 2+ years' experience in a Maintenance Engineering or similar role in an FDA or HPRA regulated environment
• Experience in a sterile fill facility
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

AbbVie are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in Carraigtwohill, Cork . This is a 23 month fixed term contract . The Maintenance Engineer reports to the Engineering Operations Manager. In this role, you will provide t echnical expertise for day-to-day production issues , with a focus on reliability engineering, asset management, continuous improvement, and energy/sustainability initiatives. You will also support manufacturing projects and help keep the site compliant, efficient, and audit-ready.
