Supervisory Mechanical Engineer

About the role

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEERING in the FLUID/MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DIVISION of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience being the system expert, leading the staff by assigning tasks, participating in the initial scoping of work, coordinating advanced planning and reviewing work performed by others. Experience overseeing the work performed by assigned workers and ensure work is completed on time. Experience providing both technical and administrative supervision over the branch. Experience directing work through use of subordinate team leaders Experience resolving individual complaints, effects minor disciplinary measures, identifies training needs and provides for such training, and continually strives to improve performance and quality of work. Experience in the submarine overhaul and repair process as they relate to assigned systems.
