Job Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting all payroll and general accounting functions. This role assists the Payroll Accountant Manager in directing the payroll and related financial activities of the hotel, safeguarding the assets, and preparing all financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and hotels' standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Job duties include, although are not limited to: - Coordinate daily with operational leaders on payroll and related financial tasks - Review and monitor financial records for accuracy to Hotel Standards - Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting various Finance and People functions - Ensure accurate data entry for Associate hours and financial records related to payroll - Review and monitor all unmatched punches - Collaborate with People to ensure proper Associate classification and recordkeeping - Manage end-to-end payroll processing with Workday, Evention, and other POS systems - Perform general ledger reconciliation related to payroll accounts and ensure accuracy in financial statements - Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis of payroll data - Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions - Work with hotel accounting and information systems including Opera, Micros, Book4Time, WAY, TEZ, and Evention - Preparing and posting month-end closing entries - Performing balance sheet reconciliations - Provide support on ad hoc projects and initiatives as required ABOUT YOU - You love learning and helping others and are innately curious - You are passionate about overseeing hotel finance and payroll - You are trustworthy and have integrity - You are committed to always doing the right thing
