Working at our Beavercreek Site : GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 75 years! Our Beavercreek facility on Research Blvd. manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. Our location on Heller drive manufactures turbine airfoils and has a focus on next generation technology. We have been awarded OSHAS's highest safety rating. Role Overview: This is a challenging role that involves performing all required inspections, tests, and evaluations in Liquid penetrant. You will also ensure all equipment, personnel, and planning are maintained for proficient operation and quality compliance. The FPI Technician will be performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. FPI Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. FPI Technicians are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of assistants and level I technicians. Ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection. Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results. Organize and report test results. Assist in the development and implementation of advanced technical inspections. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management. The Ideal Candidate: In this role the ideal candidate will primarily perform fluorescent penetrant inspections of weldments and tubing, castings, etc. in accordance with company/customer drawings and specifications. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Must possess a current or past certification in accordance with NAS410 as a certified Level 2 Liquid Penetrant inspector. Must provide documented PTL2 qualification and training records. 6 months demonstrated experience in the use of basic hand tools for setting up equipment, fixtures, and parts for inspection. Pass the eye test requirements per NAS410. (Near vision 20/25 and color perception) This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard work week. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
