Your Role Key responsibilities in your new role Taking on the role of a Photonic Development Engineer, you'll join a passionate, international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality. As such, you will be driving the development of cutting-edge photonics chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units and more. More concretely, you will: * Drive technology development of photonics for example enabling the scaling towards very large ion trap chips * Design, fabricate and characterize photonic circuit chips for a wide range of applications * Author technical reports and publications in close collaborations with internal and external partners * Supervise Master and PhD students Your Profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed * University degree in physics, quantum engineering, electrical engineering (PhD preferred) * 3+ years of hands-on experience in photonics, quantum optics and/or ion trapping * High level of motivation, striving for photonics and quantum computing to become a reality * Fluency in English, German skills or the willingness to learn it is a plus We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
