About the role

Start date: 1 July 2026 Fixed term: 9 months We are seeking to appoint a Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work at the ESRC Centre for Population Change & Connecting Generations (CPC-CG). The CPC-CG partnership brings together researchers from the Universities of Southampton, St Andrews, Stirling, Oxford, and the Resolution Foundation to understand how different generations provide support to each other across the different stages of their lives. The Post-doctoral Research Fellow will work on the project of Social and Spatial Mobility Within and Across Generations . They will investigate patterns and processes of internal migration and social mobility, and the relationships between them. The successful applicant will have a PhD in a social science discipline (including statistics, computer science and applied mathematics) or should be close to submitting their PhD thesis*. They should have experience in longitudinal data analysis. Good communication and management skills are essential. The post is available for 9 months starting 1st July 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
