POSITION SUMMARY : As a BMC South Radiologic Technologist, you will perform vital X-ray imaging for all trauma, inpatients and outpatients. These images will assist our providers to accurately diagnose and care for our patients. You will gain a wide range of experience using cutting-edge technology, while working collaboratively with other department staff and our own Radiology Team to help further BMC's mission of providing exceptional care for all. Position: Radiologic Technologist (X-ray) - Per Diem Department: Radiology-Diagnostic Schedule: Per Diem ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Diagnostic Imaging Perform appropriate studies in a timely manner, using proper positioning, technique and exposure factors as necessary and required, with a goal to use the lowest dose possible Set up equipment, provide quality radiographs for radiologists and other colleagues, and perform other duties as requested by the X-ray Lead, Supervisor, and Radiology Director Perform exams on patients of all ages as required in all areas that Diagnostic Radiology is located and needed Ensures best turnaround time for all ordered exams to reduce delays in care Exams to be performed as determined through our established routine protocols. Ensuring that exams ordered match the reason for exam and patient presentation, condition and history. Patient Care and Safety Prepare patients for exams, ensuring their safety, comfort, and modesty at all times Always checking patient identifiers to validate correct patient name, DOB, MRN, correct exam and laterality ordered, every time Monitor each patient's condition during exams, taking appropriate action when assistance is needed Follow established hospital infection control and safety procedures and use AIDET communication framework Administrative Document exams properly in Radiology Information System and PACS to ensure all details and required information are included Maintain professionalism with in-person interactions and also conduct proper phone etiquette with all staff, c0-workers, visitors and patients Maintain licensure, certifications, CEUs and annual mandatory compliances. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Completion of two years post-high school training in an approved school of Radiologic Technology. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED : State license required and all applicable radiology education requirements. RTR and ARRT required.
