Job Description: PLEASE READ EMPLOYEMENT STIPULTIONS FOR POSITION PRIOR TO APPLYING Students applying to this position must be in receipt of OSAP o r out-of-province assistance during the current or prior academic year or must have a demonstrated financial need determined using Financial Aid and Student Awards standardized needs and assessment budget calculation tool. For students to be eligible for CSEP positions, they must be registered in a full-time program, be a domestic fee-paying student, and must be able to demonstrate a financial need by successfully applying for OSAP or out-of-province financial aid funding. The People & Technology Department at Algonquin College is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated student to join our team. This exciting opportunity offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced HR environment and the chance to support a wide range of functions while gaining valuable industry knowledge. The successful candidate will assist the People & Technology team in a variety of areas including client service, employee onboarding, employee engagement, recruitment, records management, labour relations, and event coordination. Responsibilities will include supporting general office operations, preparing materials and communications, organizing employee files and records, and helping with the planning and execution of People & Technology events and initiatives. The student will also assist with responding to employee and manager inquiries related to People & Technology policies and procedures, offering valuable insight into client service within a People & Technology environment. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on HR experience within a collaborative team that values excellence and innovation. The successful candidate will develop a solid understanding of HR operations and practices while contributing to meaningful projects and events that impact the entire college community. Required Qualifications Currently studying at Algonquin College within the Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related field; Demonstrated self-started and ability to adapt quickly to a demanding, fast-paced environment; Strong technical skills; Proficient communication skills (oral and written); A proven ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment pertaining to access to private and secure information; Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Previous work experience in an office environment would be considered an asset; Previous work experience in Human Resources would also be considered an asset. Requirements for this position include: / Employment Stipulations: This position is funded through the College Student Employment Program (CSEP). Applicants must be eligible for CSEP. You must be currently enrolled in a full-time program.
