Certified Teachers are hired with a bachelor's degree and a Louisiana teaching certificate or equivalent in another state. If the candidate only possesses the minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree, the candidate will be hired as a Lead Teacher. At which point the teaching certificate is obtained, the candidate will be advanced to the certified teacher title. Certified Teachers must have a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate prior to hire or must provide the equivalent from another state and be eligible for a Louisiana certificate, which must be completed within 60 days of hire.
