Supervisory Aviation Safety Assurance & Data Management (Safety Analysis Branch Manager)

About the role

This position is located in the Flight Standards Service, Office of Safety Standards, Safety Management, Analytics, and System Integration Division, Safety Analysis Branch, AFS-930. The incumbent provides supervision to subordinate employees and is responsible for establishing the strategic direction to include planning, analyzing, organizing, and supporting aviation safety related research studies, programs, models, and other automated technology tools to conduct timely and accurate analyses. To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J, FG-14 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Experience includes monitoring and evaluating programs for compliance with regulations and standards associated with aviation safety. Experience analyzing, or the ability to effectively analyze, Air Carrier or General Aviation data using systems such as the Safety Assurance System, Safety Performance Analysis System, the Consolidated Analytics Site, or comparable aviation data platforms and/or tools.
