Overall Purpose and Objective of Position The Utilities Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating plant boilers including all auxiliary equipment, responding to equipment issues or alarms, works in a safe and clean manner ensuring work area is kept clean and free from all safety hazards, and reports to the Utilities Supervisor. Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills, as well as a willingness to work a rotating shift schedule is required. Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions Monitor and operate plant boilers including all ancillary equipment in the facility, such as Water Treatment Systems, Air Compressors, Wastewater Treatment Systems, and Refrigeration Systems Respond to equipment issues or alarms; investigates and initiates resolution Ensures compliance with Company safety rules and wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities Additional responsibilities include monitoring and adjustment of the water treatment plant, and cooling tower water quality and the operation of the Deodorizer vacuum system refrigeration system. Work in an organized, safe, and clean manner, ensuring work area is kept clean and free from all safety hazards Additional Responsibilities/Functions Ensures work area is kept free from safety hazards which require regular bending and occasional lifting. Fully responsible for housekeeping as directed by management Completes tasks assigned by the Utilities Supervisor Actively participates in Shift/Team activities including complying with best practices, standard operating procedures, development and maintenance and continuous improvement efforts. Actively participates in job-related training as required.
