About the role

This role will support Moderna's oncology pipeline by contributing computational analyses across research and preclinical development. You will work at the intersection of antigen discovery, tumor immunology, and multi-omics data analysis, applying established and emerging computational approaches to help characterize tumor biology and immune responses. In this highly collaborative environment, you will partner closely with oncologists, immunologists, biologists, and platform technology teams to generate insights that inform target discovery and early-stage therapeutic development for mRNA-based cancer vaccines and immunotherapies. Here's What You'll Do Analyze and integrate multi-omics datasets (e.g., WES/WGS, RNA-seq, single-cell) to characterize tumor antigen landscapes Apply computational methods to support antigen discovery efforts and investigate tumor-immune interactions and underlying mechanisms Leverage internal and public datasets (e.g., TCGA, GTEx, IEDB) for biomarker exploration and hypothesis generation Develop and maintain reproducible analysis workflows using Python, R, and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS) Collaborate with cross-functional teams in immunology, oncology, and translational research to support experimental design and data interpretation Communicate results clearly through presentations, summaries, and documentation to support team decision-making Here's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications) Ph.D., or M.S. with 4+ years of experience, in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field Experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis, including DNA-seq and RNA-seq Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis Experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) Demonstrated ability to apply computational approaches to biological or early-stage translational research problems This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna's site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications) Exposure to immuno-oncology, cancer vaccines, tumor immunology, or computational immunology Familiarity with neoantigen prediction approaches, including HLA typing and peptide-MHC binding tools (e.g., NetMHCpan) Experience with immunogenomics resources (e.g., IEDB, TCGA) Strong collaboration and communication skills in a team-oriented environment Pay & Benefits At Moderna, we believe that when you feel your best, you can do your best work. That's why our US benefits and global well-being resources are designed to support you-at work, at home, and everywhere in between.
