This is a 12-month fixed-term contract where you will combine deep knowledge of modern AI and machine learning systems with practical security engineering expertise to define and implement controls that enable Quantium to adopt new AI technologies safely and at pace. Working closely with data science, engineering, application security and security architecture teams, you will embed security throughout the AI and ML lifecycle. You will also continuously assess emerging threats, develop pragmatic guardrails and advise the organisation on the evolving risks associated with foundation models, agentic systems and other rapidly developing AI capabilities. How will you make an impact? Define and implement practical security controls across the AI and machine learning lifecycle, covering risks such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model theft and adversarial inputs. Develop AI security guardrails, frameworks and standards that enable teams to adopt new technologies safely and at pace. Threat model AI products, foundation models, agentic frameworks, MCP integrations and emerging capabilities, translating risks into clear mitigations. Partner with data science, engineering, Application Security and Security Architecture teams to embed security into platforms, pipelines and development workflows. Evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools and SaaS platforms to inform adoption decisions and the broader security roadmap. Monitor evolving AI threats, contribute to policies and governance, and support incident response involving AI and machine learning systems. The superpowers you'll be bringing to the team: Hands-on security engineering experience across AI, machine learning, application security or cloud-native environments. A strong understanding of modern AI systems, including generative AI, foundation models, agentic architectures and machine learning lifecycles. Experience identifying and mitigating AI-specific risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, model manipulation, poisoning and adversarial attacks. Strong threat-modelling capability, with a track record of turning complex risks into pragmatic technical controls. The ability to partner effectively with engineers, data scientists, architects and security teams to embed security without slowing delivery. Curiosity, sound judgement and clear communication skills, with the ability to assess emerging technologies and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Remember - you might not tick all the boxes, but don't let that from stopping you applying. We're more interested in how you work, your ability to solve problems and think big.
