Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years in role with demonstrated skill.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mechanic license or equivalent work experience
  • Welding certificate or equivalent work experience
  • JM Forklift certified
  • Provide own tools
  • Able to complete CBT training and SCC.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The base hourly rate for this position is $31.19.Troubleshooting by use of testing equipment and other measuring techniques.Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.Make adjustments to functional parts of equipment and control systems.Manage downtime by coordinating with production department personnel on routine preventative and predictive maintenance practices.Fabricate repair parts using shop equipment (welding equipment, cutting equipment, machine tools)Install and repair various types of pipingInstall, repair and adjust conveyorsLubricate chains, bearings, gearboxes, etcRig, refurbish, and align equipment.Operate a forklift, manlift, scissor lift.General welding/fabrication.Always use safe work practices, follow all safety rules and procedures, immediately report any hazardous conditions, and fully participate in safety programs.Perform safety observations and complete training assignments.Wears all personal protective equipment as required by management, including but not limited to protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or hard hat, gloves, dust mask or respirator.The Mechanic plays a critical role in supporting the plant's overall safety objectives. They must demonstrate a safety-first value, leading by example, not just abiding by all current safety rules, but supporting an environment of continuous improvement.Performs other duties as directedVision insurance
