Full-Time | Monday-Friday | No Call Munson Healthcare is seeking a Medical Director for Wound Care to oversee clinical operations, provide direct patient care, lead in the supervision of APPs, and help guide and direct the development and provisions of medical services. In this position, the Medical Director is responsible for the oversight of medical services rendered as well as the quality of wound care provided. Position Duties Include: Medical Director Duties- Clinical (75%), Administrative (25%) Medical Supervision. The Physician shall provide overall medical supervision for the Program in conformance with the Health System's policies and procedures applicable standards of The Joint Commission ("TJC") and/or other agencies, and federal, state and local laws and regulations. Periodic medical reviews shall be conducted by the Physician to ensure compliance with the foregoing and with quality assurance and medical audit programs of the Health System. Clinical Advice and Supervision. The Health System shall consider the advice and recommendations of the Physician concerning the performance of all clinical procedures relating to the Program. The Physician shall have the responsibility, with approval from the appropriate administrative officers of the Health System, for the direction and supervision of the Program, and to assist in the determination of: The methods, means, and details for all procedures relating to the Program. The development and implementation of the Program's written policies, rules and regulations to govern the care and related medical and other health services provided to patients. The Physician shall see that these policies reflect an awareness of and provisions for meeting the total needs of the patient. The proper utilization of appropriate treatment for patients. The necessary materials and supplies to be used in the Program, with proper consideration given to both quality and cost effectiveness. The implementation of new clinical procedures and tests in the Program. The content material and subject matter of all reports of examinations and procedures relating to the Program. The qualifications, training, level of competence and degree of clinical skill required for the performance of clinical procedures relating to the Program by other physicians and the Hospital's employees. The appropriate equipment and instruments to be used in the Program. The direction of the Hospital's employees in the Program concerning the clinical practices and methods determined to be appropriate and necessary. Quality Assurance. As part of the Health System's overall quality assurance program and activities, the Physician shall assist in establishing procedures to assure the consistency and quality of all services provided in the Program. The Physician shall participate in the Health System's overall quality assurance and continuous quality improvement programs, in accordance with the Health System's policies. The Physician shall ensure that all such quality assurance activities are appropriately documented. Consultations; Education; Compliance with Laws. The Physician shall be available at reasonable times for consultation with individual physicians, nursing, pharmacy and administrative employees of the Hospital who are involved with the Program and for the presentation of educational in‑services. Program Activities. The Physician shall participate actively in the affairs of the Program, shall participate for reasonable periods of time in educational and teaching functions and presentations of the Program and shall perform such tasks and provide such reasonable services as the Health System may from time-to-time request. Budgets. The Physician shall participate in the capital and operating budget process for the Program as needed. The budget and capital requests of the Program are subject to final approval of the Health System in its sole discretion. Representative/Liaison. The Physician shall work to develop and maintain a close working relationship with other physicians and the Hospital administrative staff to enhance quality of care, coordinate services and support the Program. The Physician shall also: Evaluate and assist in implementing the recommendations from the Health System's committees; and Review written reports of surveys and inspections and make recommendations to the Health System; and Participate in staff meetings which include meetings such as medical staff and quality assurance; and Serve as the liaison with the State and local health departments.
