Building Painter

Responsibilities

• Prepare walls, ceilings, and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, and cleaning surfaces.
• Fill cracks, holes, and imperfections with suitable materials such as plaster or putty.
• Mix paints, coatings, and other materials to achieve the required colour, texture, and finish.
• Apply paint, varnish, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other painting tools.
• Ensure all painting work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups when necessary.
• Calculate material requirements and assist in estimating project costs.
• Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Painter in commercial, residential, or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of painting materials, tools, techniques, and surface preparation methods.
• Ability to select, mix, and apply paints and coatings correctly.
• Good understanding of commercial and construction painting practices.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights when required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Responsible, reliable, and detail oriented.
• Working Conditions
• Must be willing to work beyond regular working hours when required.
• Must be willing to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays when necessary.
• Must be willing to workday shifts, night shifts, and rotating shifts as assigned.
• Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
