  • Physical Requirements:

  • Working Conditions:
  • Work is primarily performed in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment.
  • Requires frequent interaction with clinical staff, leadership, and patients.
  • May require schedule flexibility to support ED operations across multiple shifts
  • Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary operational coordinator for ED geriatric, behavioral health, and peer recovery/SBIRT programs.
  • Integrate program workflows into daily ED operations to ensure consistency across all shifts.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration among ED leadership, nursing, providers, social work, case management, behavioral health teams, and peer recovery staff.
  • Support geriatric-focused initiatives, including age-friendly care practices and geriatric accreditation standards
  • Facilitate efficient behavioral health evaluations, consultations, and disposition planning to reduce ED length of stay.
  • Monitor program performance metrics and support reporting, regulatory, accreditation, and grant compliance requirements
  • Serve as a resource for staff education related to program workflows and best practices.
  • Work with outside organizations that support the Behavioral Health, Geriatric, and Peer Recovery/SBIRT programs and service lines and foster collaborative relationships.

The Emergency Department Programs Manager is responsible for coordinating and supporting key Emergency Department service lines, including Geriatric Services, Behavioral Health Services, and Peer Recovery/SBIRT Services. This role serves as the central operational point of coordination to ensure these programs are fully integrated into ED workflows, consistently implemented, and aligned with organizational quality, safety, throughput, and regulatory priorities. Contributes to the achievement of the hospital's mission through the development and leadership of performance improvement activities in the operational and clinical arenas related to quality and regulatory indicators.
