About the role

Job Title: Registered Nurse Department: Intensive Care Unit Location: Newark Wayne Hospital Hours Per Week: 36 Schedule: 6am-6pm OR 6pm-6am + every other weekend and holiday

Responsibilities

  • Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family .
  • Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family .
  • Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities .
  • Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters .
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse License in State of New York.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

Requirements

  • A ssociates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred .
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred .
  • 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred .
