About the role

Responsibilities
- Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family .
- Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family .
- Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities .
- Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters .
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- Registered Nurse License in State of New York.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.
Requirements
- A ssociates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred .
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred .
- 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred .
