Follows established safety practices.Prepares solutions and lab chemicals and obtains specimens and operates autoclave. Conducts basic maintenance on lab equipment. Assists with the development, evaluation, and purchase of lab and program materials and resources.Maintains quality and quantity of test bank materials and security of state exit exams with input from the department chair.Schedules and maintains at minimum the number of student contact hours as prescribed in DBOT rule.Selects textbooks and materials. Coordinates resources with textbook and course syllabus to ensure a successful program.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:Education and Experience:Four years fulltime work experience; minimum academic preparation must be at the same level at which the instructor is teachingKnowledge of:Microsoft Office Professional or similar applicationSkilled in:Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task managementExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communicationAbility to:Demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom; must be able to use the technology required for the assigned courseWork a flexible schedule including nights and weekend, and on multiple campuses if neededLicenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:Current State of Florida Cosmetology licensing/registration requiredThree years of verifiable salon or spa work experience.Must demonstrate cultural competency to engage and work with a diverse student and employee populationPreferred, but not a must:Associates degree or higherWork Environment and Physical Demand:Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 poundsReach and grasp objectsStoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawlStand for extended periods of timeUse of video display terminalUse of manual dexterity and fine motor skillsCommunicate information orally and in writingReceive and understand information through oral and written communicationProofread and check documents for accuracyWork with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injuryWork a fluctuating work scheduleThis job description is intended to be generic in nature and describe the essential functions of the job.
