Master's: At least one year of experience working with radio, audio and video broadcast and recording equipment, or graphic design Required Special Skills/ Knowledge As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant's proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Knowledge of the operational and maintenance characteristics of a variety of broadcast equipment used to produce live or recorded productions. Knowledge of the techniques used to produce live or recorded television productions. Knowledge of pre- and post-production techniques. Knowledge of safety precautions normally associated with broadcast and recording studio work. Ability to set up and operate a variety of audio and video production equipment. Ability to set up video teleconferencing software for use in live television. Ability to coordinate production requirements and meet deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and the public. Ability to direct diverse productions, coordinate production requirements and schedule productions. Ability to communicate effectively while working with others using tact and diplomacy. Proficient in using character generators. Working Conditions Moderate (carrying of items less than 50 pounds). In the event of an emergency, the position may require on-site reporting within 2 hours. Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted.
