The QA Lead drives improvements in quality, productivity, and cost efficiency through AI-enabled QA practices and optimized processes, ensuring the timely delivery of scalable, high-quality software. As a hands-on technical leader, you champion AI adoption, enforce best practices, and elevate QA performance through influence rather than direct management. What You Will Do Participate in defining and enforcing QA best practices across contributors Promote cost-aware, value-driven quality engineering Identify systemic quality issues and lead improvements in workflows, tooling, execution quality, and team capabilities Act as a technical authority for QA in the design and evolution of AI-assisted test strategies guiding both manual and automated testing approaches Champion AI-first QA practices, applying AI tools to address common QA needs and improve reusability of these with practical approaches for consistent velocity and quality improvements across contributors Contribute hands-on by: Perform manual testing using AI-assisted techniques (white-box and black-box) Design and implementing automated tests (e.g. Jest, Playwright) Use prescribed AI tools (e.g. Claude Code) to accelerate QA activities Review and continuously improve the quality of team outputs (stories, defect reports, test cases, automation, etc.) Provide hands-on training and coaching to team members on AI tools, test design, and automation Drive adoption of best practices in prompt design and context engineering Stay current with AI trends and introduce improvements Focus effort on protecting high-risk, business-critical workflows, while making intentional trade-offs in prioritising QA activities to balance: Critical versus non-essential product functionality Scope of regression risk beyond immediate changes Time and infrastructure cost required to validate What You Will Bring To shine in this role, you bring QA expertise, strong AI fluency, and collaborative communications with a passion for improving team effectiveness. Required Qualifications Degree in computer science, software engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience 7+ years in software quality assurance with strong automation focus Extensive experience testing SPAs, APIs, and distributed systems Expert understanding of QA methodologies and best practices Proven ability to improve team processes and enforce standards across contributors Hands-on experience with AI tools for QA workflows (e.g. Claude Code) Expertise in context engineering and iterative prompting, with the ability to guide others in effective AI usage Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs Experience driving AI adoption or transformation initiatives within QA or engineering teams Worked in cloud environments (preferably AWS) Excellent communication and collaboration skills Advanced scripting skills (JavaScript preferred) and experience with automation frameworks such as Jest and tools such as Playwright Must be legally entitled to work in the country where the role is locate Preferred Qualifications Experience designing scalable QA processes across multiple teams or products Familiarity with performance and load testing methodologies and tools such as Artillery Experience with AI-assisted performance or security testing Experience working in Agile development environments Background in financial or enterprise SaaS products Key success traits: Leads through influence, not authority Balances hands-on work with strategic improvement Focuses on efficiency, quality at scale, and cost-effective delivery Applies ROI and risk-based prioritization Drives AI-augmented QA excellence Pragmatic in applying and validating AI outputs What Success Looks Like 30 days: You understand our tools, product, and people Within 90 days: You work independently on meaningful tasks Within 6 months: You contribute ideas, improvements, and measurable impact Why Join Prophix?
