About the role
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent serves in the Joint Staff (JS), Logistics Directorate (J4), Knowledge and Information Division as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Identifying and developing solutions to strategic problems and mitigating operational issues; Assessing and influencing Joint, Multinational, Interagency, and Mission Partner logistics information systems, technology, data and digital modernization strategy investments and implementation efforts; Directing development of data, provision of expertise and insights and secures legal opinions; Preparing position papers or legislative proposals and executing comparable activities that support development of goals and objectives related to high level program management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
