  • Essential Duties:
  • Assists with development tasks such as formatting, grammar, clarity, consistency and alignment with learning objectives; provides feedback to faculty to ensure coherence and rigor.
  • Applies foundational instructional design and learning science principles to support case-based, active learning, and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Applies Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA) to design and remediate inclusive instructional materials.
  • Participate in the quality assurance process for courses and learning materials
  • Develops and maintains instructional resources (e.g., templates, guides, tutorials) to support course design and delivery.
  • Supports faculty, as assigned, with course design, instructional strategies, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Manages assigned tasks to meet timelines and collaborates with the team to support curriculum development.
  • Builds foundational knowledge of instructional design, educational technology, and accessibility best practices through professional development.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data/results of tests conducted
  • Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Initiate confidential correspondence on behalf of the program
  • Work both independently and within a complex structured team
  • Able to exercise judgment within generally defined practices & policies to determine appropriate action
  • Proctor standardized assessments
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
  • Select and attend professional development opportunities provided by ASU HR
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or a related field
  • Foundational knowledge of instructional design principles and learning science (e.g., alignment, active learning), with experience reviewing or developing instructional materials
  • Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1/2.2)
  • Familiarity with instructional technologies and learning management systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in office and education technologies (e.g., Microsoft Office, learning management systems, student information systems)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Skill in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis
  • Use computers effectively - including inputting, reviewing, retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen, and using mouse and keyboard
  • Ability to use calculator, telephone, computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse), printer, fax, and copier
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working Environment:
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to up to 20 pounds (light)
  • In-person position only
  • This position is full-time, and the incumbent must be available Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
