About the role

We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in general civil construction and a technical specialism in pavements, concrete works, and stabilised pavement construction. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic project environment, enjoys hands‑on engineering, and is passionate about delivering high‑quality infrastructure outcomes. What are the key accountabilities for the position? As an onsite project team ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction Manage a rolling 4-6 week look ahead be involved in 3- 6-month forward planning Identify and mitigate risk, developing strategies and plans Drive subcontractor management to meet project outcomes and milestones Ensure environmental, sustainability and quality contract requirements are met by coordinating & working collaboratively with these project teams Support procurement activities proactively Champion safety and ensure safety processes are followed in line with legislative & project requirements Review, interpret and manage contracts Participate in client/contractor meetings. Financial forecasting and budget ownership for cost codes Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation Provide mentoring & training to project teams made of up cadets, grads, site engineers Be responsible for delivery of civil packages - earthworks, roads, drainage, pavements. Required Skills and Competencies You will have a tertiary education in civil engineering, construction or similar. Advanced programming & planning skills Experience in detailed planning of local roads with traffic signals Experience in planning in confined spaces. Excellent commercial acumen with confidence in managing contracts and forecasting Advanced communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff and clients
