Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; Perform dispatch duties in the absence of on shift personnel, Maintain net control of the security force radio communication systems; Control and coordinate security forces (by means of in person, radio, or telephone contact); Enforce special and required security measures to protect life and property and; Assign personnel to work assignments and ensuring timely completion. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade GS-06 (or equivalent). Physical Demands: Recurring and unpredictably strenuous physical effort is exerted when apprehending, subduing, and detaining persons, performing body searches, and using unarmed self-defense techniques. Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. and be able to carry or move persons weighing 180 lbs. such as accident or crime victims and hostile suspects. Work Environment: The work environment regularly involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress which require a range of safety and other precautions (e.g., subject to possible physical attack by human means and/or various weapons or firearms). Routinely performs duties outdoors in various weather climates, conditions, and temperatures.
