Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is excited to announce that we are looking for a Veterinary Instrument Assistant to join our specialty and emergency hospital team. About GSVS: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded veterinary specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Rehabilitation, and Ophthalmology. We have also been treating felines with hyperthyroid disease with radioactive iodine since 2001! We are also proud to have two technicians here at GSVS with their VTS's in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Why GSVS: We are not your typical veterinary hospital! Veterinary Instrument Assistants at Garden State Veterinary Specialists play a vital role in supporting our surgery department by working closely with veterinary technicians, emergency doctors, and board-certified specialists. This position is responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas are properly cleaned, sterilized, organized, and ready for patient care. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence help maintain the highest standards of patient safety and surgical efficiency. On Any Given Day, You Can Expect To: Prepare surgical instruments for scheduled procedures. Clean, disinfect, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using autoclaves and other sterilization equipment. Assemble and wrap surgical packs and maintain accurate instrument inventories. Stock and organize surgical supplies, treatment areas, and operating rooms. Monitor equipment condition and report any damage or maintenance needs. Maintain cleanliness and infection-control standards throughout surgery About You: 1+ year of experience in a specialty veterinary hospital preferred. Passionate about veterinary medicine and patient care. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to excellence. Schedule: Available schedule options include (Day Shift): Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Wednesday through Saturday Tuesday through Saturday
