Minimum Qualifications: To be minimally qualified for this position you must have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors in a five-minute writing sample. AND Specialized Experience: For the GG-07, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GG-06 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Maintaining personnel records and verifying supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Researching and providing guidance to employees on basic personnel, pay, and benefits inquiries. Entering and updating personnel and payroll information in automated HR systems. Reviewing, coding, and processing standard, recurring personnel actions in strict accordance with applicable regulatory guidance (e.g., non-benefit accessions and separations, change in work schedules, name changes). Specialized Experience: For the GG-08, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GG-07 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Maintaining personnel records and resolving discrepancies. Researching, interpreting, and applying HR regulations, pay rules, and procedural guidance to provide employees and managers with information on moderately complex personnel, benefits, or pay matters. Entering, validating, and troubleshooting personnel and payroll data in automated HR systems, including transactions requiring multiple nature-of-action codes or other unique coding scenarios. Reviewing, coding, and processing fairly complex personnel actions (e.g., benefits related actions, conversions, promotions). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
