About the role

In this role, you will provide strategic direction to our provider's medical/surgical portfolio of categories for clinical contracting and sourcing optimization. You will manage and facilitate all sourcing events from RFP processes to contracting. You will also drive system enhancements; proactively recognizing and delivering on new or improved processes and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Identify cost-savings opportunities and develop a formal work plan for the medical/surgical portfolio of categories.
  • Partner with the provider and key clinical stakeholders to address best practice opportunities in reducing variation, consolidation, and utilization in clinical practice.
  • Partner with Vizient GPO to drive contract compliance, tier optimization, and administrative fees.
  • Conduct the entire RFP process through evaluations, vendor demonstrations/product evaluations and vendor service level assessments.
  • Build and foster ongoing professional relationships with C-suite, clinical leaders and other client executives.
  • Facilitate and lead sourcing initiatives in conjunction with provider's governance structure for decision making, and clinical value analysis teams.
  • Present savings opportunities to provider C-suite, supply chain, and clinical leadership.
  • Conduct business reviews with key suppliers following internal audit requirements.
  • Partner with suppliers to ensure contracts are in compliance with provider expectations.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree preferred. Advanced degree is highly desired.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in healthcare and/or health care operations required.
  • Medical/surgical experience required. Value Analysis experience a plus.
  • Understanding of project management concepts needed.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with an ability to lead enterprise-wide projects needed.
  • Strong analytical skills and data interpretation needed.
  • Excellent business and financial insight with the ability to quantify challenges and suggest alternative actions desired.
  • Willingness to travel.
