About the role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payment Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day execution of payment operations across multiple payment channels and markets. The role is responsible for ensuring payment transactions are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Payment Processing
  • Execute daily payment operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of domestic and cross-border payment transactions.
  • Monitor payment queues and operational dashboards to identify processing issues or transaction exceptions.
  • Investigate and resolve failed payments, rejected transactions, and operational discrepancies within established service levels.
  • Settlement & Reconciliation
  • Perform daily reconciliation between internal systems, banking partners, payment processors, and financial ledgers.
  • Prepare settlement reports and ensure timely settlement with merchants, banking partners, and payment networks.
  • Investigate reconciliation breaks and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for timely resolution.
  • Operational Support
  • Support operational activities across payment products, merchant onboarding, and transaction lifecycle management.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and ensure proper documentation of payment activities.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and operational readiness for new products and system enhancements.
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Adhere to internal operational controls, compliance requirements, and payment scheme regulations.
  • Escalate operational incidents, control gaps, and suspicious activities in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Support audit requests by preparing operational documentation and evidence.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Compliance, Customer Support, and Risk teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Liaise with banks, payment processors, and external partners to investigate transaction or settlement-related queries.
  • Provide timely updates on operational issues and contribute to incident resolution efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through process optimisation and automation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving operational scalability and customer experience.

Requirements

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in Payment Operations, Banking Operations, Settlement Operations, or Financial Operations.
  • Experience in payment processing, settlements, reconciliations, and transaction investigations.
  • Experience working within a fintech, payment service provider (PSP), digital bank, or financial institution is preferred.
