Position Summary The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care for clients in PHP, IOP, and outpatient programs. The PMHNP works closely with the Chief Medical Officer, therapists, and program leadership to support safe, effective, and coordinated treatment for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. Essential Functions Clinical Care Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments. Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications as clinically indicated. Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up appointments. Develop and update treatment recommendations based on client needs and progress. Assess and respond to psychiatric concerns, crises, and changes in clinical status. Coordinate care with outside medical and psychiatric providers when appropriate. Program Support Participate in treatment team meetings and clinical case reviews. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams regarding client needs, concerns, and progress. Complete documentation in accordance with regulatory, clinical, and organizational standards. Provide clinical consultation and psychiatric guidance to treatment teams as needed. Support quality improvement, accreditation, and compliance initiatives. Competencies Completes psychiatric evaluations and documentation within required timeframes. Utilizes sound clinical judgment in assessment, diagnosis, and medication management. Communicates effectively with clinical teams, clients, and families. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA requirements. Responds appropriately to psychiatric concerns and escalates issues when necessary. Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and appropriate clinical boundaries. Qualifications Active Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in New York. Current DEA registration and prescribing authority. Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
