About us UCL Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO) invites application for a Non-clinical Lecturer. About the role The Institute of Ophthalmology invites applications for a Lectureship in developmental biology, genetics and/or omics. The successful candidate will contribute to our research priority pillars-Ocular Development and Ageing, Disease Mechanisms, Genomic and Translational Medicine, and Visual Neuroscience-advancing fundamental discovery and its translation into improved understanding and treatment of eye disease. The post holder will be expected to make a substantial contribution to teaching, including leading the development of at least one new module closely related to the postholder's expertise/research interests or developing a short course. This position is available from 01 December 2026. About you Applicants should be on a trajectory to be an internationally leading investigator with a significant research profile through first/senior authorship of high-quality original research publications in refereed journals and demonstrate evidence of successful competitive grant funding awards. The postholder will be expected to attract funding from Research Council and charity sources to support their research program and build their research team.
