Job Description Summary: Under direct supervision from the Writing Center Coordinator, the incumbent will provide advice and resources at every stage of the writing process: Assist students formatting papers, properly citing their papers in MLA, APA, Chicago, or any other citation the instructor requires; Assist students to brainstorm ideas to enable them to begin assignments; Discuss how to formulate clear thesis statements; Clarify lesson instructions; Teach while proofreading; Clarify what plagiarism is and make sure students know how to cite in-text; Learn what the professors require, so students can comply with each particular criteria for a well-composed paper; Work closely with ADA students to enable their success; Be familiar with and have extensive experience in helping with the research process as it applies to college writing.
