Supervisor Loan Specialist (Commercial)

About the role

This position maybe located in a State or Area office in USDA/RD. The incumbent is primarily responsible for program planning, policy development, administration, coordination and evaluation of the full scope of activities related to the State's rural business and cooperative development loan, grant, and loan guarantee programs. Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in Grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet the time in grade requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. GS-13 level: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience planning, directing, coordinating, executing, and evaluating program activities related to the business, commercial and/or cooperative development loan, grant, and/or loan guarantee programs (i.e., processing loans and grants and servicing existing borrowers). Experience providing policy updates training in business program law, regulation, credit counseling, customer service, loan processing and/or grant processing through training sessions and development of procedures. Experience establishing priorities, evaluating performance, and/or advising employees on administrative and work-related matters. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
