Sr. Technical Information Specialist

About the role

MPF has an immediate need for a full-time, Senior Technical Information Specialist (STIS) for one of our Federal Government contracts in Silver Spring, MD . The position is remote during normal core business hours (7:30 am - 5:30 pm), Monday through Friday. Compensation: $26.89 Position Summary: - Conducts research, review, and QC activities to ensure foreign facilities' status and detailed information are current and correct in FDA database systems per the SOPs, AQLs, and SLAs. While performing the research, the individual must determine which FDA systems and internet sites are required to identify the necessary data. - The individual must be able to analyze the information identified during the research and review it to determine the next steps based on the conditions and requirements identified in the SOPs, AQLs, and SLAs. There may be some real life scenarios where the exact steps required to complete the firm are not specifically outlined in the SOP. The individual must be able to analyze the situation and select the most appropriate path based on information in the SOPs and/or determine when there is not enough information available and escalate the situation to their manager. - The individual must be proficient in researching and updating foreign addresses and phone numbers to ensure correctness. - Review, research, recommend, document, and merge foreign facilities with potentially more than one assigned Facility Establishment Identifier (FEI). - Communicate with the firms via phone, email, fax, and UPS to verify and obtain needed information. - The individual must be able to respond to questions and requests from the firms to give them guidance and answer their questions based on the conditions, requirements, and rules outlined in the SOPs, AQLs, and SLAs. They must also be able to analyze and incorporate the information provided by the firm to identify the next steps in their own process. - GEO code firm's physical location as needed and to identify firm location in areas restricted for travel by U.S. Government personnel. - Perform peer-review QC on data entry. - The Senior Technical Information Specialist must have proficiency with computer use, including a working knowledge of the standard Microsoft suite of products. - The individual must be highly self-motivated, organized, skilled at time management, and must be extremely detailed oriented. Must be able to organize and complete their work based on timelines defined in the SOPs, AQLs, and SLAs without supervision. - Must complete assignments adhering to all FDA/Federal rules, regulations, policies, guidance documents, and procedures. - Ensure compliance with FDA records management requirements. - Must have experience interfacing with the customer. Required Qualifications: - Minimum of Bachelor's degree - 3 years of related experience in records/document management - Must be eligible to work in US and ability to obtain a clearance. - Must have good organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. - Must be detailed oriented with strong ability to perform quality checks on work being performed. - Must be able to effectively communicate (verbally and written); proficiency in communicating via phone and email, gathering required information, documenting and tracking the information in FDA systems and various excel spreadsheets. - Ready to learn and participate in the team effort. - Must have strong computer skills to perform research using FDA databases, internet sites, data entry and related tasks.
