Position Summary The Buyer - Component Parts will be responsible for all aspects of the Parts Procurement process for Samsung Austin Semiconductor. This includes the following functional areas: purchase order creation and management, management of high-usage parts and inventory, negotiation of annual pricing agreements with local and shared vendors, leadership of cost savings and efficiency initiatives, tracking and reporting of procurement-related KPIs, collaboration with engineering and other stakeholders, and participation in global supply chain management meetings for effective vendor management. Role and Responsibilities Here's What You'll Be Responsible For: Purchase order creation and management, including the need to design/implement workflows for PO generation, approval and fulfillment as well as ERP and other systems integration projects. Manage high usage parts and inventory; analyze consumption trends to optimize stocking strategy and execution for high usage items while reducing low usage inventory and eliminating zero bin events. Negotiate annual pricing agreements for local and shared vendors; responsible for securing cost savings and best pricing on parts as well as leading procurement projects through to implementation and conducting after action evaluation to validate savings and project impacts. Lead cost savings and efficiency projects; define project scopes, establish budgets/timelines, and oversee execution to achieve measurable cost reductions and workflow improvements. Track and report Procurement related KPIs; monitor key performance indicators, compile executive level reports, and provide actionable insights to support decision making and company wide goals. Interface with Engineering and other stakeholders; coordinate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and other relevant teams (Logistics, etc.) to ensure smooth parts flow (including GR, GI, inventory management, returns, and discrepancy management) and ensure Procurement processes meet technical and operational needs. Participate in global SCM meetings for effective vendor management; attend supplier and engineering meetings to discuss procurement strategies, qualification plans, and future projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
