Responsibilities

  • Daily evaluation and assignment of technical work. Direct work processes throughout the shift

Requirements

  • NYS Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required
  • To qualify for a supervisor position, as per NYS DOE, 4 years of bench experience as CLT required (2 years could be substituted for a master's degree in Science or Arts)
  • Understand the dynamics involved in running a massive transfusion protocol
  • Experience with Neonatal transfusion
  • This position is located at the Moses campus in the Blood Bank lab. This is a per diem position where the shifts will be day or evening depending on departmental needs.

Utilizing the latest advances in computer technology, the Division maintains millions of dollars of state-of-the-art automated equipment at its laboratory sites and services hospitals, nursing homes, the Montefiore Medical Group, faculty practices, and voluntary physicians' offices at more than 40 sites. This position is responsible for the daily operation of the shift including staff supervision, scheduling, material management including blood inventory, and quality review in compliance with regulatory agencies.
