The Keene State College Upward Bound Programs are year-long college preparatory programs for first generation and/or low-income high school students from 12 target high schools in New Hampshire and Vermont. The summer session is designed to expose students to a college-like experience that supports the positive academic, emotional, and personal development of our students in preparation for success in high school, college, and beyond. The summer provides participants with the experiences of living on a college campus, taking academic courses, engaging in co-curricular activities. The academic program is of foundation for the Upward Bound Programs summer session. Teachers are responsible for working closely within departments and with department heads to develop and implement engaging curriculum that provides pathways to success for heterogeneous groups of students. Teaching faculty also work closely with residential staff, who serve as tutors for academic classes, to understand student learning needs, promote study skills, and encourage self-advocacy. Through the use of comprehensive learning objectives, teachers provide frequent feedback during the summer that is designed to motivate students' confidence and engagement. Duties/Responsibilities Co-developing, planning, and teaching all assigned classes, and interdisciplinary project-based course : Provide learner feedback In collaboration with TRIO Mentors, attending to student learning needs Attending lunch and supervising students Documenting student progress and report concerns Monitoring program-wide compliance with Keene State College and Upward Bound Programs guidelines : Attend to student concerns and behavioral support and complete timely reporting Educate students on program and campus policy Other programmatic duties as assigned Attend and contribute to staff meetings, trainings, and programmatic activities as assigned : Attending and contributing to all training, staff meetings, department meetings, opening and closing ceremonies, and evaluation sessions Completing end of summer evaluations for students in courses by deadlines and submitted to supervisor Attend regular supervisory meetings
