Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of wafer-level and sample-level magnetic multilayer thin-film samples for characterization, established device fabrication, and electrical/magnetic measurements.
- Perform magnetic, magnetoelectric, structural, microscopic, and related materials characterization on magnetic thin films and spintronic micro-/nano-devices to verify material/device properties, validate processes, identify failure modes, and improve yield.
- Support micro-/nano-device fabrication, process integration, post-process inspection, quality assessment, and failure analysis using established processes and existing photolithography, etching, deposition, and inspection tools.
- Perform electrical and magnetic transport measurements; support sample mounting, contacting, and probe-station preparation; and provide timely measurement feedback for process optimization, device testing, yield/reliability assessment, and project reporting.
- Analyze experimental data, generate graphs and tables, and collaboratively support the evaluation of magnetic, transport, and thermal properties of thin-film/device samples. Prepare technical summaries, progress reports, or research outputs when required.
- Support laboratory operations and project coordination, including equipment maintenance, safety/documentation compliance, procurement support, experiment scheduling, progress tracking, and user coordination/training.
- Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a relevant Science/Engineering field.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with 1-3 years of relevant hands-on experience in research laboratories or related R&D environments will be preferred.
- Practical experience in thin-film/sample handling, micro-/nano-device fabrication, materials characterization, magnetic or magneto-electrical measurements, or probe-station-based testing is advantageous.
- Good organisational, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to execute experiments independently, troubleshoot practical measurement or process issues, and work effectively in a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
- The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on its prevailing recruitment policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
