Pay Range: $24.50 - $31.85 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Supports Payroll department with the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly, multi-state payroll process for hourly and salaried employees. Utilizing the Human Capital Management system (HCM), ensures compliance across multiple states and with federal wage and hour laws. Handles more complex payroll processes (i.e. Leave of Absences). Processes timely and accurate payroll related reports utilizing current software programs. Serves as an initial point of contact for escalated items. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education:High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Experience:Five years payroll processing experience. Other Credentials: Knowledge and Skills:Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Organized and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Five years payroll processing experience. Special Training:Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong data entry skills. Workday experience preferred. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities:Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members to maintain confidentiality of payroll/employee information. Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Usual Work Day:8 Hours Reporting Relationships Does this position formally supervise employees? No If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinates state and federal filings with external third-party vendors Calculates and processes payroll adjustments, such as wage garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings. Works with other team members to review payroll inputs within own area of responsibility to minimize errors. Reviews employee hours worked, overtime, and PTO, to ensure hours are timely approved by managers for payroll processing. Reviews and checks payroll previews prior to Payroll settlement. Provides guidance and instructions to managers regarding payroll process and best practices. Monitors and audits employees submitted tax and direct deposit selections. Provides support to employees for utilizing HCM self-service. Monitors integration of payroll files from third-party vendors into Workday Prepares and issues timely and accurate replacement checks when necessary. Collaborates with HR to monitor and audit accurate supplement pay for employees. Works with applicable departments to resolve issues regarding workers compensation leave. Sets up employee direct deposits, voluntary deductions, garnishments, mail drops. Audits the data entered daily for accuracy. Involved in payroll processing audits to reduce errors. Tracks, researches, troubleshoots, and/or escalates all payroll related issues, with thorough follow through until fully resolved. Maintains an accurate knowledge of CH policies and government as it relates to running Payroll. Prepares payroll reports to reconcile and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Supports employees, managers, and/or HR with excellent customer service, assistance, and education on payroll and all payroll related matters. Provides excellent customer service by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and offering guidance on payroll matters while maintaining a professional demeanor. Performs other duties as assigned.
