About the role
You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER (STRUCTURAL) in the PLANNING, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, STRUCTURAL 1 (PDC42A) DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC. This position has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF). You must have a current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. If you meet this requirement, you must provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show current registration status will not serve to verify you meet this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing engineering drawings, technical specifications and studies for the structural portion of civil engineering facility design projects; 2) Proficiency in applying advanced analysis methods and industry/DoD codes to the design of new structures and the evaluation and investigation of existing facilities, particularly in a marine environment; 3) Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate the activities of other professionals on Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects; and 4) Proficiency with modern engineering software including BIM (e.g., REVIT), AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools (e.g., Bentley, SAP, or RISA products).
