Saudi Arabia: Assistant Driller

Responsibilities

• Supervises and takes part in the order, cleanliness and housekeeping at rig site. - Maintains the drilling tools and equipment. - Supervises and helps the drilling crew to prepare equipment. - Before rig move should order and supervise the loading of the rig equipment under the orders of the Tool Pusher and Driller. - Supervises the correct storage of drilling equipment. - Responsible for replacing the Derrickman at any time at the request of the Driller. - Inspects the derrick/mast and equipment, records the inspections, reports and corrects the defects after approval by the Tool Pusher. - Supervises the good maintenance of all the sheaves in the derrick/mast. - Checks that the drill string is in good condition. - Supervises the handling on the rig floor and specially when picking up or laying down drilling equipment. - Can replace the Driller at the brake when pulling out, running into the casing or when drilling a non-productive zone. - Is familiar with the client's rules to control a kick and to apply them under the orders of the Driller. - Performs any job requested by the Driller or the Tool Pusher as long as this job is within his competence.
